This time I came to Panzhihua to escape the winter, I directly settled on Joyhome Grand Hotel Panzhihua. After staying there, I realized that choosing the right hotel, there was no need to make complex travel plans in advance. The convenience of food, drink, entertainment, and transportation in the surrounding area directly made travel worry free.
The location of the hotel is really cleverly chosen. It only takes 20 minutes by direct bus from Panzhihua South Station, and taking a taxi on the expressway does not take any detours. Just after getting off the high-speed train and dragging a suitcase, there is no need to go around the winding mountain road, and you can quickly lie down on the hotel bed. Even if you come from the security camp airport, the airport road is smooth throughout the journey, and you can directly reach the hotel in half an hour, without having to leave two or three hours in advance just to catch a flight or high-speed train.
Leaving the hotel gate is the main road, and the bus stop at the entrance covers almost all the core routes of the city. Taking bus No. 1 for 3 stops can directly reach Panzhihua Park, and taking bus No. 63 can reach the Ashuda Flower Dance Human Scenic Area without transferring. If you don't want to squeeze into the bus, there are always available rental cars and online ride hailing services at the entrance. Even if you want to go out for supper in the early morning, you don't have to wait too long to get a taxi. I want to go to Hongge Hot Springs for a hot spring bath this time. I directly booked a cooperative shuttle bus at the hotel front desk, which is cheaper than taking a taxi myself. It only takes 20 minutes to arrive at the hot spring area, and I don't have to worry about the route back and forth.
The most surprising thing is the pedestrian circle around the hotel, where you don't have to take a car. Just a 5-minute walk away is a large lifestyle supermarket. If you want to buy some local fresh mangoes and specialty nuts as souvenirs, just take a walk downstairs and you can find the freshest products. A 10 minute walk will take you to the Wanda Plaza business district, where you can find a variety of milk tea shops, cinemas, and chain restaurants. If you want to visit the night market at night, you can walk for 15 minutes to reach the local specialty snack street. The aroma of Yanbian barbecue, lamb rice noodles, and copper hotpot can be smelled across half the street. Strolling back to the hotel late at night, you don't have to worry about not getting a taxi.
If you're too lazy to run far, there are several local time-honored restaurants downstairs of the hotel. If you take a turn when you go out in the morning, you can taste the time-honored lamb rice noodles that have been in operation for more than ten years. The soup is so fresh that you can't even drink three bowls. If you want to taste authentic Yanbian cuisine, you can walk for 8 minutes to a local foodie's hidden restaurant. The taste of Tuotuo chicken and crawling sandworms is ten times more authentic than that of internet famous restaurants, so you don't have to follow the navigation and wander around the alley for a long time to find food.
I stayed in Panzhihua for five days and hardly opened the navigation. The attractions I wanted to go to and the restaurants I wanted to eat were either within walking distance or could be reached by taking a direct bus from the hotel. I didn't feel the fatigue of driving around every day when I came to travel. I used to think that when coming to Panzhihua to visit, I needed to prepare several pages of transportation guides in advance. After staying at Joyhome Grand Hotel Panzhihua, I realized that choosing the right place to stay and not having to brainstorm about route planning is the most comfortable way to start a vacation.Show more
This time I came to Panzhihua to avoid the winter and bask in the sun. I compared several hotels in the city in advance and finally chose Joyhome Grand Hotel Panzhihua. It takes only 20 minutes to take a taxi from Panzhihua South Station. As soon as I got off the bus, I looked up and saw the main building shining under the warm sun, with the unique bright atmosphere of a dry and hot valley. The exhaustion of the journey instantly dissipated.
As a landmark high star hotel in Panzhihua that has been open for many years, there is no sense of restlessness like a new hotel when entering. The tall lobby is transparent and bright, and the warm decoration style carries the unique enthusiasm of the southwestern city. When checking in, the staff were particularly enthusiastic and learned that it was my first time coming to Panzhihua to escape the cold. Not only did they proactively hand over warm lemon water, but they also thoughtfully provided a handwritten local travel map, clearly indicating the obstacle avoidance route of Hongge Hot Spring and where to buy the sweetest Kate mango. I was amazed when I opened the door of the city mountain view room I ordered. The whole french window was facing the cascade mountain view of Panzhihua. The afternoon sun covered the whole room. Standing by the window, I could see the waves of Jinsha River in the distance, and even the wind was sweet with mango.
What surprised me the most was the appropriateness of the details. The climate in Panzhihua is dry, and the humidifiers and free local throat lozenges that were prepared in advance in the room helped alleviate the dryness and discomfort that I had just arrived at. Free bottled water is available in the public areas of each floor, which can be easily accessed after strolling the streets. The bedding is dry and fluffy, and the mattress is just right in terms of softness and hardness. After spending the whole day in the sun outside, when I returned to my room and lay on the bed, the soreness and bloating all over my body quickly dissipated. Although some facilities have traces of time, every corner is spotless, the anti slip mats in the bathroom are neatly laid out, and the hot water comes out quickly and steadily, so you don't have to wait for half a day to take a comfortable hot shower.
The next day, I woke up to have a buffet breakfast with a wide variety of dishes that cater to both northern and southern tastes. The freshly cooked Panzhihua lamb rice noodles were refreshing and flavorful, while the freshly steamed corn bread had a sweet aroma. Even many local residents came here specifically for morning tea. After dinner, I walked for 10 minutes to Panzhihua Park, basking in the sun and strolling leisurely until evening. On the way back to the hotel, I could buy freshly picked mangoes on the street. I don't want to go out at night, so I went straight to the hotel's Chinese restaurant for dinner. Most of the customers who came for dinner were old and familiar guests who had stayed there for many years. The Yanbian cuisine was authentic and delicious, and the signature sandworms and Tuotuo chicken were so fresh that people couldn't stop using chopsticks. There was no need to go out and queue up for internet famous restaurants.
The location of Joyhome Grand Hotel Panzhihua is really convenient. It takes only 15 minutes to walk to the Wanda Plaza commercial district and 20 minutes to drive to Honggwen Spring. If you want to visit attractions or soak in hot springs, you can just lift your foot and leave. Before leaving, I took a few photos in the hotel lobby and looked at the guests passing by and the staff greeting me with a smile. Suddenly, I realized that the charm of old hotels has never been fancy internet celebrity designs, but the warmth that captures every little need of people who come to Panzhihua to bask in the sun. Next time I come to Panzhihua for winter shelter, I will definitely stay here for a few more days.Show more
